I finally have a macro lens (Canon EF 100 mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM), and I'm chasing the bugs all over the backyard! I love seeing the detail that I cannot see with my eye. I'm not too good at a tripod yet, so the IS really comes in handy!
Now here's an interesting bee! I don't think I've ever seen a green bee before. This is a Sweat Bee, because they are attracted to the salt in human sweat. He was a fairly calm bee, and was working hard on this on the little pink wildflowers near the beach, at Pillar Point Harbor. It's scientific name begins with Agapostemon, but that's all I can figure out.
