January & February: I'm a bit ahead of myself this month, so I'm putting up what I finished for Jillian's 1st Birthday Party in February. She had a blast!
March - April: Lots of Peccary pups, and there's a new addition to the Patas Monkey family. She's adorable!
May - June: Red Panda, Tenzing, has moved into the treehouse, and is enjoying his view from top! He now has a Red Panda friend. By the end of May, I think I've spotted a Penguin chick in the burrow! A Linnaeus's Two-toed Sloth has arrived, and there are some new babies in the Prairie Dog yard also.
June - July: There are lots of beautiful new birds across from the Chimpanzee exhibit, and also some new additions at Puente al Sur. So many colors! Kabibe, the infant Gorilla turned 1 year old in July, and the Gorillas had a fun party. At the end of July was March of the Penguins, when 4 juvenile penguins graduated from fish school, and strutted their stuff while marching back to the Penguin colony.
August-September: In August I saw lots of Chilean Flamingo eggs, and by September there are new chicks hatching! Check out the new Red-rumped Agouti across from the chimps, and there is also a brand new addition to the African Savanna - a little boy Giraffe calf! There were also a couple of scorplings born to the Emperor Scorpion at the Insect Zoo! That, I have never seen before!
October-December: The Chilean Flamingo chicks are growing fast, and beginning to grow in some pink feathers. Jing-Jing, a Francois' Langur had her first baby - and it's a boy! A baby Greater Kudu and a baby Eastern Mountain Bongo was born, and are getting big fast! Two new Crowned Lemurs joined the Lemur Forest. Boo at the Zoo was great fun, and many of the animals were given special Halloween themed enrichment. Zoo Lights was beautiful, and the children had great fun with the faux snow! We were also able to go into the giraffe barn at night, and meet the whole herd!
